This course provides learners with comprehensive knowledge of the materials used in building and construction works. It covers the properties, classification, selection, and practical applications of traditional and modern materials such as stones, sand, cement, concrete, timber, metals, glass, and composites. Learners will also explore sustainability, quality control, and material testing techniques to ensure safe, durable, and cost-effective construction.

By the end of the course, learners will be able to identify, evaluate, and select suitable materials for various construction tasks in line with industry standards and environmental best practices.

Building Technology 1

This unit introduces learners to the fundamental principles and practices of building construction. It covers basic construction materials, tools, and techniques used in substructure and superstructure works. Learners will gain practical knowledge of site preparation, foundations, walls, and floors, as well as essential safety procedures in building operations. The course lays the foundation for advanced study and practical application in the construction industry.
